I'm going to make an educated guess they would have preferred you be
resting rather than fussing around with an M8.  Don't you have an iPhone or
similar?

On another front:  Did they not chastise you for _driving_ to the ER?
Every doc I know (and I know several) says call 911, don't try to be casual
about it.
