Yes, Jim, Richard Man pointed out that I likely had inadvertently set 
"resize" in the Export setting, and he was right. There were enough 
other screw-ups that I threw away the LR4 catalog and updated the LR3 
catalog again from scratch. I will send those pictures again at a 
reasonable file size and will probably delete the previous ones from 
my album.
