Subject: [Leica] (IMG) More scans - WWI sites

Back in 1987 a friend won a bursary to interview and photograph World War
One veterans in Europe.

Two things were against this:

1) He couldn't drive, so that is where I came in

2) Neither he nor the award givers were good at basic arithmetic. Any
veteran was going to be mid-80s and upwards so would not be hanging around
the RSA bars! In a nutshell, we did not meet any WWI veterans but did quite
a few WWII ones who tended the cemeteries.

So we went off with no real knowledge or plan, camped just outside Iepre
(aka Ypres) and drove about photographing........

My images are at http://johnmcmaster.com/PESO/WWI

C & C welcome

John - all Hasselblad (I cannot remember what I used, certainly an SWC and
150mm - not sure if 50mm or 80mm as well but most look 38mm or 150mm shots)

There so many cemeteries in that area that you just keep finding more and
more, many are for a single commonwealth country.
