Subject: [Leica] Would you trade your M9 to go back to an M8?

Well, I have to have a good camera at least until a steady job outside
freelance photo work comes along.

As for the expense, I didn't buy the M9, my GI Bill paid for it.
Aside from that, I own all the lenses that I need to work already. That
is, if I sold my M9 then bought a USED D2x for less than $1000 plus two
lenses I'd need to work, that would still put me right above $4000 in
hard-goods expense before spare batteries and CF cards.

These days film Leicas are not that expensive, so if it's a film M you
mean, then that's just nonsense. Sure, it's not a $50 Spotmatic but the
cost of a film M body is still close to the cost of a high quality SLR.
Again, I'd have the outlay for lenses.

Thanks for your assessment.
