Ah.

Now that is interesting.

But...and it is a big but, because I am slimming down my gear closet, not
bulking it up so the question is merely an intellectual tease....I have
trouble with the idea that now that I have got used to the idea of having
the best of both worlds in one camera (color + b&w) I should forego the
color in favor of a somewhat better b&w only image file.

Maybe I'll get used to it.  I had trouble getting used to the idea of
digital, not all that many years ago.
