You will when your camera locks up and wants you to select a new file
folder.....and you have no idea what the *)(*(& camera is asking you to do
nor have a computer to do anything to help!

And I will cheerfully admit that one of my digital cameras (I don't remember
now if it is the M8 or X100) recently decided to reset its numbering, I
think it was the Fuji after a firmware upgrade. And I didn't care. Why?
Because when I import the pictures into LR and convert to DNG, each file
automatically has the date added to the file name, so unless I shoot more
than 10000 photos in one day, I will never have a problem and thus have no
reason to care about such things.
