Back in 2003, when the Navy was making the switch to a full digital
photographic support system (aside from a few very specialized
applications) my friend Jessie was the leading petty officer at NAF
Keflavik, Iceland. He gave me a call when I was at the photo lab on the
"big Navy" base on Guam and asked me to help him catalog some old
cameras he had to inventory then get rid of. His first words were "Hey
Forrest, have you ever heard of a 'line-hoff'? (his phonetic
pronunciation.) I said, "It's Linhof and it's a fantastic make. You
have one?" He had the Tech 45 (amongst a TON of other amazing gear) and
I heard it sold with a lens for $120.
