Actually, there is some really good advice in this article.  Start reading
right after the section that talks about possible configurations....

And it looks like I stand corrected.... apparently PS writes all file
changes to HDD space.  A SSD will speed things up.

But still, fill up the memory first.....that will always be the first speed
bottleneck.....
