And yes, the DMR combo is still king.  Nothing like it out there.

Thanks Bob and all others who commented.  I'm pretty sure "Birds of the
Sacramento Delta" is a lot more likely than an Atlas of California Birds,
since I've yet to see let alone photograph a couple hundred of the species
that have been seen in the state.
