While the ME is basically a slightly stripped down M9, the M (M10) is a
whole new build including the SW (Maestro Processor).

One can infer that the ME will probably arrive when planned, the M might
take a while to work out the production and SW kinks.....

My suggestion is to be patient and wait. The M is the future.

I just checked: the M-E is apparently shipping in Europe......

Now about those new model numbers.....
In the future, Leica has decided to designate their M line models simply
with the name M. ie, the implication is that all future RF cameras will
simply be called the Leica M.
Then there is an add-on you must use to figure out WHICH M it is.
So the full model numbers are as follows:
M10 = M Type 240
M-E ( Replacement for the M9) = M-E Type 220

This is apparently easier for some at Leica to figure out which camera is
which..........

And a whole lot more complicated for writers, journalists, users, and
purchasers ....

1 step forward, 1 1/2 steps back

We have seen samples from the MM, great ones! Does anyone have an M yet?
