Have you been eating too many bagels with a smear?

The Newspapers out there use Nikons or Canons because they do not need more
resolution or quality or whatever you call it that comes out of an Iphone.
In fact, I predict the IPhone will become the de facto standard backup
camera for all Newspaper guys.....maybe even the #1 camera.....

PJ's can't afford any Leica lenses, if they could afford the $7K for the
body.
Street shooters are, in general, amateurs... they can afford whatever they
want.... but how many will want a non-AF camera?

The ISO standard on the MM or new M is still dismal by Nikon standards... If
you shoot in dim light, go get a Nikon.

Zoom? What Zoom? Putting a 4 pound lens in front of the M is a disaster
waiting to happen... and we still do not know it works... or is useable if
it does work...
You want an Digi-SLR, go buy one. Nikon and Canon are good names. Good
glass too. Leitax makes the lens mount conversions if you have R glass
waiting for a Digi-Body....

Be happy that Leica has produced a new M ... even if they forgot how to
count beyond 9. But let's not get crazy....

As I have said in the past... made for Doctors, Lawyers, and Indian
Chiefs.....
In modern language....
Oligarchs, Monopolists, and those that live in Russia or China....
Or, IOW, Amateurs..... well healed amateurs.

It's the glass that will break your wallet, not the body.....

Leica is holding its own... and wants to achieve a 1% ( or was it 2%?)
market share (as the number of cameras decreases by the inverse cube law)
within some number of short years.. (3? 5?)...

But a major player....

Stop eating the bagels...

Because of the Leica M and Monochrom cameras.
Both will be sought after by top reportage people, street shooters. All
kinds of shooters really.
The M9 was not so much in the limelight because it was not so much in the
low light. Full frame alone was not enough to make the difference. People
want Jam on their bagels. They most certainly wanted to do what could be
done with a DSLR. Now they can. Even zoom.
We'll see a huge difference public relations wise with stories about top
jobs being shot with the new Leica M's. Night jobs, low light jobs.
Traditional standard Leica M jobs.

The Leica glass which has come out in the past decade will be allowed to
shine like never before. As well as the Leica glass from pervious decades.

My Leica glass is mainly from the turn of the millennium. The Late 90's.
Early 2000's.
The 21 and 24 Elmarit ASPH 's and the 35mm Summicron ASPH. A Noctilux and a
135 f3.4 Telyt M APO. And two 90's an Elmarit from the previous vintage made
with NASA money and the ASPH APO Summicron.
When I got a new M its going to be quite a thing getting much of this glass
to work with it I guess. No clue how much I'll have to budget for that.
