Magnum guys got paid/ or were loaned free of charge to carry the

The market and technology of cameras has moved. With a N or C camera,
anyone can point and shoot as well as those in the old days. If you are a
working pro, the competition is the 15 year old down the street.. ...

Leicas ARE expensive, Yes, they are great optics, but not everyone needs
that. Rich guys can afford it....whether they need it or not.

Looking at it a bit differently, the Leica ads are no longer about optics,
but about lifestyle..... and that should tell you something about what their
target market really is...... it is not about working photographers.

Frank, your posts may be true, but they are predictable and endless...

why are you so invested in this?

have you made any photos recently ? have you posted any?

I don't see it as a stereotype thing I see it as an oddball low cut to Leica
camera. Called "Dentist" cameras or otherwise "rich guy" cameras it was most
appreciated by top pros as in the Magnum people and some people who Saw that
work and wanted to emulated it.
Or the people who appreciated it in hand and knew the advantages of a
rangefinder and premium glass.
Or Care.
The people who don't care are the ones who do quick write offs on it.
Calling it a rich guy camera.
Its a premium product. Cost a lot of money.
Obviously your priorities would have to be there if you were going to get
one. If you were in their target market.
You have to "get it" to get it.

In the past I've had to do extreme financial scrambling to get an M6 body or
lens. And as it paid off for me I did more later.
Its not in the category of a causal buy like a medium range nikon lens or
mid range body even.
