I've shot a lot, and I use 1/125th for just the right blur. Shot jets, too,
and use anything for them. But of course, most of them always look fast,
except the Citations that I used to shoot. The Citation is the only aircraft
where the trailing edges are tested for birdstrike.

Oh, what a beauty. Nice shot. If you do get some of her flying, pleeeze
post 'em.

Funny, though I got my private pilot's license in 1963 or thereabouts and
had been shooting photographs from much earlier, I had not known what
shutter speed to use for propellers. Of course, when shooting sailplanes,
that's not usually a consideration (except for self-launching or powered
sailplanes of course). Can you believe we're trusting our lives to flying
machines older than we are?!

She's an old girl and drools a little but she's had some recent Work done
and seems all the better for it.

I'm told she's flown regularly but I have never seen her in the the air. If
I knew when she was about to fly I'd be there like Doug Herr at Hawk Hill
during the migration!
