I believe we largely agree Ric, my point was regarding trying to see through 
the external shell, that which often adorns the person, to see the 
person.... and I was being a wise ass to boot since these days, many have a 
shtick, they dress to cover up the real deal; whether it's Halloween only or 
year round, they create the personna they desire. 
Often we can easily see thru this.
I believe a good portrait can penetrate to the core.

HCB has a book of wonderful portraits, entitled I believe, An Inner Silence.
