The voice out of the gray cloudy light of day asked: "Hey man is that one of those fancy new Leicas that cost $12 Grand and "IT CAN ONLY DO B&W FOR THAT KINDA MONEY?"? I figured by the snotty put down tone of voice it was a jerk asking!" :-) I responded in a light hearted fashion.... "Yes my good fellow it certainly is and does a magical job capturing amazing images in beautiful B&W!" He?..... "What a pile of crap ! Man I can get 2 Canons and a couple of lenses for 12 Grand and do colour and B&W. You got screwed man!" And made an ugly face you'd like to put a boot to! Or you'd have loved to rip his larynx out just to rid the world of the snotty nosed voice inflections! Say's I? "Would you care to see a frame or two?" As I put the camera to my one good eye and clicked. Then did a quick set to show a B&W beautiful image. :-) Dang I knew I had this snotty nosed SOB and I was going to stuff him because as I brought up the image he said....... "I bet it isn't as good as shooting B&W film and I know all about that as I've been shooting B&W film for 4 years nearly every day and my "friends" tell me I take really good pictures !" Me in my mind.... "Yep I bet you do!" Gagg ed and nearly barfed! So yep there was my shot looking all nice B&W! A shrug of his shoulders and "UGH not bad! But for 12 Grand I'll still get 2 Canon's just in case I want to shoot colour. Besides it looks like one of those old time cameras!. "YEP!" says I as I walked away and tucked my Digilux 2 shooting B&W back in the bag! :-) "gottcha!!" And smiled! And smiled to myself again thinking....... "the LUG guys &gals are going to love this "Leica spotting story! " Jeeeeeeeeeeesshhhhhh it can make a guy feel so good when yer not having a good shoot day and you get away with a little something like that! :-) cheers, Dr. ted.
