I was down at Sandycove Point, Co. Dublin yesterday, and took a few photos.
Sandycove is on the south side of Dublin Bay, has a small harbour beach, as
well as the famous Forty Foot Gentlemen's Bathing Place, and is the setting
for the opening chapter in James Joyce's book Ulysses.

This is the late Irish architect Michael Scott's house on the point built in
1937 which reflects the maritime nature of the setting.

Abutting Scott's house is James Joyce's Tower, a martello tower rented by
Oliver St. John Gogarty - a friend of Joyce - who features in the book as
Buck Mulligan

And beside that is Rockfort which is on the market at the moment for 3.2
million euros. It's being sold as "Sandycove Point" and the For Sale sign
gives a useful guide to the surrounding location.

There's some information on Michael Scott's house here.

http://vimeo.com/8621430# is a documentary on Scott and, at 14 mins into it,
there's a piece on the house, but the documentary is, in itself,
fascinating.
