Leitax conversion to Sony Alpha is also possible with the added benefits of 
no mirror clearance problems with wide-angle lenses, and if the adapter is 
chipped, the camera's in-body stabilization will be active.

One disadvantage of Leitax mount conversion is that you will no longer be 
able to use Leica-R extenders or extension tubes.  IMHO if your subjects 
aren't moving quickly a mirrorless camera such as the Sony NEX (or similar 
cameras) with a dumb adapter or the Leica M type 240 also with a dumb R 
adapter is more versatile.
