Thanks to everyone who responded. There seems to be a consensus that all the
200 and 300 series are pretty dismal for MF lenses. A Katzeye screen helped.
The D600 was reported better. Noticeably absent was any info on the D3/4
Looks like the D1x is not a bad choice, still.
My son responded with disbelief that I would not chuck my MF lenses and buy
and use AF lenses exclusively.
I plan to cut him out of my will.
