As far as the light
well, for me,
photography is nothing if not "the light"

visually lousy light = visually lousy photographs
(more often than not)
It matters not how much light;
though the direction, color, amount of fill, etc.
all determine the mood, the feeling
the textures, details, forms, edges
the sense of reality
