Paul... is this true for all native A7R lenses? All AF is done at aperture?
 Ditto the A7?

Sequence as I understand it then is....

Push button to shoot
Lens stops down
AF happens
Shutter goes click

AI this true in all focusing modes?

Note non-native lenses work this way as the aperture mechanism is not
engaged in any way by the camera... the lens is always stopped down to
taking aperture...

\That may be one reason why they use focusing at the stopped down aperture.
