Hi Jim,
We have many dogwood trees around and about Victoria which I always admire 
because of their amazing beauty & colour.
So a question Good Sir?  Do you not think this "might have been" ? More 
spectacular against a blue sky if it were shot in colour?

A curious mind wonders?
