Wellllllll...LG TV's phone home over the internet about your use, or did the 
last time I read up on them. Some VERY unsettled users who watched their TVs 
send data back to the mother ship. Or the NSA. Or someone. A good firewall 
fixed THAT problem at least for a few folks, but they had to sniff out the 
packets and figure out what to block.

LG was completely unapologetic since it WAS disclosed on page 48 of the end 
user license agreement that had to be clicked before the TV would actually 
operate.

Some pointy-haired boss at work on that!
