Invoking a prestige automobile designer as the inspiration for ?a new camera
is par for Leica. The first Leica mass market digitals, the Digilux and the
Digilux Zoom, were allegedly designed by Porsche. Basically they were
repackaged Fuji 1700 and 1700 Zoom cameras sold at a 50% markup in price. As
I said, par for the course.

"I would love to understand the real reasons for Leica going to Audi for the
design. They make good cars, but aren't exactly renowned for their cameras. I
suppose it was just a prestige thing to bump up the price."
