I used a 28 Elmarit (non Asph) on my M6s for decades.
Gorgeous results. Fantastic resolution. Contrast. Et al.

Loved using it on the M8; including for wonderful Infrared work.

Sold it to purchase the 28 Summicron Asph.

Gorgeous results. Fantastic resolution. Contrast. AND an extra stop.
Wonderful.

EXCEPT.
When used to do Infrared on the M8 - it produces a horrible hot spot
which the Elmarit never did. Making the lens totally unusable for Infrared
on the M*

So I've regretted selling the 28 Elmarit.
Just as I've regretted selling any and every piece of Leica gear.
Oh well. Such are the calls of necessity in life.
