Interesting as ever, Ric, but is there a hierarchy of hats? I see loads of 
bald men parading hatless in the searing short shadow sunshine, and yet 
there's the odd stray sun hat together with the obviously commanding bowler, 
can you enlighten us?

I type this as a bald man who avoids sun without the reassuring security of 
a panama on my head. Also you provided the answer to what members of ZZ Top 
do on their days off :-)
