I regularly use the Leica 75mm f/2.5 and WATE (16 - 21) on the a7rii. I
have found that the edge performance of all M-mount optics I have from 50mm
down are affected by edge smear (caused by the thicker sensor filter). The
WATE is free of it because it is a (very good) retrofocus zoom design.

Amusingly, I bought a 30 year old 35mm Canon FD f/2.8 to get a very good
(at f/8) manual focus 35mm for landscape work.

I have generally preferred manual focus with an accurate infinity stop for
landscape work. With the original a7r the auto focus was rather weak.
That also caused me to favor MF. However, the new a7rii AF may be good
enough that part of the reason to stay with MF is gone.

I use the (perhaps overpriced) Voigtlander VM-E adapter with the M-mount
optics so that I can accurately set the infinity stop. I have modified the
VM-E lock so that it locks at that point. I also use tape to be sure
nothing moves on that mount by accident.
