I find it amazing that after 2500 years the bas relief sculptures at
Persepolis are still mostly intact and vivid.

A lot of them had been rubbed until they were beginning to deteriorate, but
the barriers prevent people from getting to them now.

The history behind all of these sculptures makes them come alive to me.
History is disappearing too fast in the middle east these days!!
