Yes. Though it doesn't take much to test and determine where the IR focus 
should be.
On my 40 mm Summicron which now lives on the M8 with the B+W 93 the focus 
needs to move to the f:4 Mark. 

So you focus the subject then take note of that distance and shift it to the 
f:4 Mark to the right of f:2 (closer)
