I use a Series 5 Gitzo CF tripod and it has endured all kinds of handling,
rain, snow, ice, and heat,and Temps down as low as 2 F.  Still looks like
new and works flawlessly.  I also have a Bogen Aluminum tripod I bought 35
years ago, although I use it less often these days.  Don't use either as a
walking stick, Monopods work better for that.
