Thanks, Ted.

This is Pennsylvania, where the state motto is "save room for dessert."
Consider that this coming Saturday (7th) begins the PA Farm Show, a
week-long extravaganza in a vast collection of buildings around Harrisburg
(agriculture is still Pennsylvania's largest industry). Thousands attend
each year, often irrespective of weather. The two major show promotions
are the milkshakes (a special flavor each year), and the butter sculpture.

That's right--the butter sculpture. Every year an artist is selected to
create a statue (or tableau) in discarded butter. Lots and lots of it.
The finished work is displayed under glass in a refrigerated display case,
visible on all sides. It usually takes about five minutes to get close
enough for a picture (if you can elbow past all the families taking cell
phone pictures of the clan in front of the sculpture.)

My favorite was a sculpture of two cows doing a Lindy Hop. I'm not
kidding.

Have a wonderful 2017, filled with good health, happiness, and a few more
gigs of images.

Best,
Jim

Hi Jim,
HAPPY NEW YEAR & LOT'S MORE OF THEM! :-) A very interesting photo series
as usual. I finally have to ask?
So many of these "Country Fairs?" that you capture so many neat photos,
depict some of the "heaviest weight folks?" I have ever seen. I mean there
are women who surely break or very closely break 3oo pounds? Or most
certainly close to that??
I'm not saying on occasion we might see the odd one here of that stature?
But extremely rare indeed.
Is this "just one of those things in the USA?" just curious?
cheers,
ted
