Jim,

If you have not already done so you might experiment with the settings.  
For example in the current version of LR the defaults are amount 25, 
radius 1, detail 25 and masking 0.  With the Fuji sensor, for example, 
results are much better with detail set to 100 and masking to 10.  Just 
a thought.
