Subject: [Leica] [IMG]s - PESO The Atlantic Wall - its in the UK!

Thought this might interest you all. Near my house is a replica of the WWII
Atlantic Wall. See here:

It's built on the side of a hill with two walls one behind the other as some 
of
the Normandy defences were. This is the downhill side of the lower wall, 
which
is the most  massive, although it doesn't look it in this perspective because
there is growth and more recent earth around it.

This is the wall further along in cross-section. To get a sense of scale. The
step is a firing step to fire **down** on approaching soldiers, so is about 
5 ft
high, enabling you to lean over and take a shot.

This is the wall viewed from up the hill, between the two walls (the second
isn't in this sequence). The hole in the middle is where the steel gates were
before they were attacked with whatever devices they were testing at the 
time.

These are some of the "dragon's teeth" anti-tank defences. They were 
originally
taller but have accrued a lot of earth around them.

C&Cs are welcome as ever. I know they are washed out :-).
