Thanks Peter, I am just south of Wick currently...

The book is by a friend with Maltese heritage, so a bit of that and some of 
her own stuff - I will post a web link to it soon ;-)

Scotland at this time of year can be very bleak. I have friends who live 
near the Dornoch Firth which at the moment seems to be veering between
