We are not on different pages....
Silent shutter means electronic first and ending shutter. basically, no
shutter movement at all. (Or, in the limit, no shutter at all)

You are correct, as some models have electronic first shutter capability,
both front and ending electronic shutter, some neither.

Specifically, I have the A7 and A7II. I was trying to point out the
tradeoff of a LESS quiet ( First Shutter ) or, in my interest, less
vibration vs less color depth.

Scott... to answer your question, I have never had to do much in the line of
image color tweaking.... sometimes, I change WB from auto to a specific
condition ( for example, cloudy) and sometimes saturation is upped a tiny
amount....but otherwise, I find the colors fine......
Maybe I have low expectations? Perhaps I like non-oversaturated colors? II
should add that mostly I shoot landscapes.

I don't thinkfirst curtain and Silent shooting is exactly the same. Silent
is only avaiable in some Sony models, notably the A7s ans s2, and the A7r2
and A7r3. There may be more. Guidelines for silent shooting:
