I recall reading a Pop Photography piece on the new Plus-X of the 1950s, and
what an improvement it was over Verichrome Pan. However, in real use and
with standard development Plus-X was about double box speed (50 was really
about 100), as was Tri-X (200 was 400). Kodak and other manufacturers of
black and white negative film all underestimated speed by about a stop, and
around 1957 film manufacturers adjusted stated film speeds to reflect
reality.

Beautiful skin tones. Reminds me of Plus-X (ASA 50) of the 1950s, only
better.
