My Google Pixel XL is the best phone I've ever had - great screen,
consistently fast with no drama, and (much as I used to assume I didn't
care about such things) great camera. The Pixel phone series get good
timely software security updates.

Oh, and the USB-C charging connection has been trouble-free. I know a
couple of people who've had repeated problems with flaky Lightning
connectors on their iPhones.

Note that the Pixel XL I have is a generation (soon to be two) older than
current. The Pixel 2 XL is reportedly a solid evolutionary improvement on
my phone, and they're being discounted in some channels to make way for the
upcoming Pixel 3.
