So the camera load with the SL was more than enough to wear me out on many a day. Certainly with the motors which I think it was 10-12? AA batteries to drive the motor. So three of them hanging off neck and shoulders with a couple of m's and you've got a Leica load! :-) I used 3 Leicaflex SLMOT's, for those who don't understand "mot" it's the motor driven version and I swear the SL and motors were made from regurgitated WW 2 Tiger Tanks!!! :-) As solid as a brick sh..t house! Man they could take a beating like no other camera I've used in the slr types. When the SL2 came out it wasn't the robust hammer the hell out of it same camera. I believe it was the beginning of the electronic bits and pieces so they were a tad frail, bump one and the meter would go haywire. The SL? You could hammer nails building an arctic bivouac and it would still work. :-) I still have the first one I purchased 1968-69? Don't use it, as it's just a keep sake! See at heart I'm really just a sentimental old fart at times. ;-) :-) I get it out of an old camera case with a couple other notables from shoots gone by, run all the shutter speeds a half dozen times while recalling happy assignment memories using it and tenderly return it to bed till another shutter run. ;-) One very beautifully made camera. ted - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
