That's interesting. I've never gotten hot spots on IR with my M3 or IIIf. I did get dark spots from the dimples on an Olympus OM pressure plate, though, before I switched to only RF cameras for infrared. I bought a bunch of HIE last November. At my usual rate of shooting it I should be set for about twenty years.
