I once had an M3 DS with glass pressure plate, and I did get static marks in colder weather. The viewfinder of the M3 is what makes it my favorite M. I like 50mm and longer lenses, and use the wider f/stops as much as possible, so the focus accuracy appeals to me. Lack of a meter was never much of a problem for the kind of pictures I do with my M3. After 42 years of shooting, I can guess the exposure pretty well, and I can always check with a Weston Master V or Sekonic L-28 if I have slide film loaded. M3 + Noctilux: Sounds great!
