I once had an M3 DS with glass pressure plate, and I did get static marks in
colder weather.
The viewfinder of the M3 is what makes it my favorite M.  I like 50mm and 
longer
lenses, and
use the wider f/stops as much as possible, so the focus accuracy appeals to 
me.
Lack of a meter was never much of a problem for the kind of pictures I do 
with
my M3.  After 42 years of shooting, I can guess the exposure pretty well, 
and I
can always check with a Weston Master V or Sekonic L-28 if I have slide film
loaded.

M3 + Noctilux: Sounds great!
