Subject: Early 19mm Elmarit-R, what filters can I use?

I'd like to order a couple of B & W filters for an earlier version 19mm
Elmarit-R (ie the 1975-90 version with the big lens hood and no internal
filters), particularly a dark yellow and a red, both for infrared
photography, but I'm concerned about vignetting. B & W filters have
deeper rims than Leica's own filters.

B & W do make special wide-angle filters, but these can't be used with
the lens hood and I'd like to be able to use that if possible. 

If anyone knows what filters I can or cannot use on this lens, or has
used this lens with screw-in filters, please let me know.
