Dan,

Congratulations on the new addition!! Another Leica user (eventually).

As to the G2, I'm not terribly impressed. A couple of years ago I
bought a G1 and the 3 lenses because I thought that they represented
some sort of worthwhile new direction. I was wrong. The lenses were
magnificent, but the body was awful, and I quickly sold it all.

I've looked at the G2 in the store and whie an improvement, it has
nothing like the feel of an M6. The viewfinder is still pathetic and
frankly the body is terribly overpriced -- though the lenses remain a
dream.

In fact, I have been so taken with Zeiss glass that I recently said
soyonara to my Nikon F4 gear and bought a Contax RTSIII and lots of
Zeiss glass. The R8 was tempting for a while, but the Leitz glass
prices did me in.

Take care.

Michael
