Subject: Leica Repairs Help

I hope that this has not been covered in the recent thread regarding
Leica Repairs.
I am a Canadian owner of an R4 which has recently had a problem with
either the focusing screen or reflex mirror, as my camera will not focus
at infinity with any lens I own. I am positive it is not the lenses
because I tested them on my SL2 and they all focus properly.
I took my camera to a local repair shop, the only one that I know of in
Vancouver who will even touch Leicas. I would have rather sent it
directly to Leica but as I was leaving for a trip for Scotlan in only a
couple of days, I opted for the Locals. They returned my body and 35 f2
Summicron and I checked it before I left, it was focusing fine. As soon
as I hit the highlands in Scotland, though, I realised that they had
simply adjusted the lens and not the body, now I had a broken body, a
broken lens and only one camera to shoot with. When I returned to
Vancouver I took it back to the shop, they have had it for two weeks and
have readjusted the lens. Now they say they can't fix the body and that
it has to go diredctly to Leica. Anyway, My question is, has anyone on
this group sent their reflex equipment to Leica, and how was their
experiences? Can anyone guestimate how much it is going to cost me to
get this problem fixed? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Matthew (Leica owner in distress)

PS anyone want to buy an R4?
