Converter A allows a screw mount lens to be put on a Canon reflex 
body, (pre-EOS). Converter B allows a Canon R, FL, or FD lens to be 
put on a screw mount body.

Canon also made long extension tubes in screw mount. The converters 
are used to place the extension tubes between lens and bellows, 
etc.
