You may want to look into the polariod Sprintscan scanners.  I bought the
original model about 8 months ago and love the results it gives.  It works
well with both neg and slide films and has a great scanning plug in for
Photoshop that allows minor image adjustments including color, sharpness,
gamma, brightness/contrast and rotates the photo so you don't have to mess
with it after scanning.  It will give you a 2700 dip scan in about 90
seconds.  Of course it is considerably more expensive than $200.  All
photos on my site were scanned with this scanner.
