        it should have the same kind of mount as the other R lenses.
        The lens was lighter than I thought.  I think I really like it
        if the glass quality is excellent enough.

That's good news!  I have a close cousin of this lens -- the Novoflex
400/5.6, which I like just fine.  It also does not have an automatic
diaphragm.  It's less trouble to use with my R6's than I would have
thought.  If you're shooting something that's moving, you should just
do it wide open -- the lens works well enough at the largest aperture,
and then you can meter and focus without worrying about the aperture.
If you're shooting something static, meter and focus first.  Of course
on your R4 you can use aperture-priority with any aperture, as long as
you can still see well enough to focus.

BTW, fast film or a secure tripod are kind of a must with this lens,
but you probably already knew that.

The Leica lens is supposed to have slightly better contrast rendition
than the Novoflex lens.
