Have you put the focus ring into the near focus mode i.e. turning to the stop at 3'4", then pulling it forward (toward the front element), and while it's pulled out, turning it toward 32" mark mark until it stops? Once that is done, the eyes will slip on over the ball unless, in fact, the ball is indeed frozen? Written by: Roy C.
