Watched the program "Bilderbuch Deutschland" on the first German station
today. It was on Mittel Hessen, the area between Lahn and Dill rivers. They
first showed Wetzlar (nice houses), and then said that the name will be
forever linked to Leica.
They showed parts of the Leica museum in Wetzlar, and noted that the present
production has moved to the Solms factory. Some of the works of the factory
were showed, and also some testing of the R8 body.
Everything in about 3 minutes.

Leica will also feature in another program on the first German station (ARD)
on Sunday. In the program "Kopfball" parts of a camera will be shown, and
people will have to call with the right answer: this is the Leica R8! Then
they will tell how a reflex camera is designed and manufactured by showing
the Leica camera and lens plant in Solms.
(info gathered from Leica Fotografie International, German edition 7/97).
