No surprise. I spent many hours talking with the head honchos of Canon in
the USA at the University of Missouri (where they sponsor the Pictures of
the Year contest, the largest photojournalism contest in the world). And I
was no small bit of torment there to remind them they don't make the best
stuff in the world. They still don't. But it's darn good stuff.

I photographed talked with the niece of Aldos Huxley, who is a medical
researcher at the University of Missouri. She told me, when she noticed my
Leicas, that she prefers Leica microscopes to all other microscopes, even
though they cost five times as much as the nearest competition. It must
drive the competition crazy that people like us know there is a difference,
as we are always putting their customers at risk of buying it. :-)
