Subject: [Leica] Court ruling

Bonjour a tous,

People...people...please! Some of you apparently did not read the ruling.
Remember, it is a civil case, not a criminal one. The odds of ending in
prison if you photograph someone in quebec are nil. As for being an anglo,
if the police catch you, anglo or not, the treatment will be the same...

Indeed, it is very much possible that a photo be taken without permission
and do much harm. I take Ted s photo (nom fictif) in public and publish it
without his permission as the header of an article on computer fraud in a
very famous paper (Le Devoir). Ted will not like it and sue like hell (he
will settle out of court for a mint boxed IIg!), that is how it should be.
The ruling allows for group photos taken in public places (at a hockey game!).

I would also like to point out to my english canadian friends that the
ruling was done by the supreme court of CANADA.

I will lend my IIIg and Summarit to any lugger who visits Quebec and Montreal.
Just email ahead of time...

Oh and by the way, j aime beaucoup la Colombie-Britannique et les
chocolats de Roger s a Victoria.

A la prochaine

Robert
