The green version isn't too bad. In fact, it's actually better when hooked
up to the Leica 1.4 Apo Converter. I guess because it's better in the
middle, and that's what gets through the converter. It's own 1.4 converter
is not good at all.

It is definitely a good stop-gap lens to buy, but a good 280 2.8 used is
selling right now for $3295. If I were in a position to buy one, I'd jump
on it for the extra thousand or so for vastly superior optical performance.
